Artfluence: Dr. Akati Khasiani at Artfluence Festival

Our very own Dr. Akati Khasiani will be a panelist at the very first Artfluence Human Rights Festival! It is an online festival taking place between 5th and 8th May 2021, focused on arts, the constitution and democracy. The theme of this first edition is ‘Voices of Hope, Courage and Resilience’, marking the 25th anniversary of the University of Kwa Zulu Natal’s Centre for Creative Arts as a creative enabler and advocate, as well as the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the South African Constitution.

In her role as the Strictly Silk co-executive producer, Dr. Khasiani will be speaking on the panel titled ‘Music: Broadening Inclusivity’, being held later today (Friday, 7th May 2021)! She will discuss Strictly Silk’s origins and growth trajectory, and the beautiful collaborations that have been made possible since SS’s inception by different active, dynamic networks of diverse women and non-binary folk.

Akati will be online from 8PM EAT, and the festival will stream live from the Center for Creative Arts Youtube channel and also be streaming live from Strictly Silk’s Facebook page! Register here to attend. See you there!
