Community Rituals and Spirituality: Jim Chuchu, Phillipa Ndisi-Herrmann and Leona Nichole Black In Conversation
For Queer Joy, we were also interested in conversations around spirituality, and we recorded several. Of these, we are thrilled to share two! Today we are thrilled to present Leona Nichole Black and Phillipa Ndisi-Herrmann, in conversation with us (represented by Jim Chuchu.
Leona Nichole Black is a passionate educator, well-being advocate, and empathic Tarot Therapist. She is the author of the book “Tarot Therapy” (available here and here, and read more about her process with the book in an interview with Gal-dem here!). Leona specializes in Tarot and Cultural Studies, engaging popular cultural motifs to explore ways esoteric knowledge can be used to find routes to purposeful living. Leona has been serving as a Tarot Therapist for over three years, and her practice is founded on the belief that divination through tarot & astrology can deepen our understanding of ourselves through accessing the wisdom of the inner spirit, and that we can use this information for fundamental personal transformations toward a more balanced and empowered life. You can engage more with her work on her website linked above, on Instagram and on Youtube.
Philippa Ndisi-Herrmann is primarily a filmmaker, photographer, writer, and painter. She is in post-production with her documentary film, Philippa/Rabia (formerly The Donkey that Carried the Cloud on its Back, in co-production with the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund, IDFA Bertha Fund and Docubox EADFF). Phillipa also inspires and transforms through psychic mediumship, astrology and yoga (Ashtanga 200 YTT). She works in other realms too: family constellations, officiating weddings, DJ-ing, curating events, public speaking, teaching and inter-cultural training. You can engage more with her work through her film, New Moon, and with her socials via Instagram, and also enjoy an array of interesting links she shares here!
