LIFT’s #PlansForTheFuture: Njoki Ngumi In Conversation
Our very own Njoki Ngumi was (finally, after the first conversation unfortunately didn’t work out!) in conversation with LIFT’s Artistic director and CEO Kris Nelson! This conversation will close out LIFT’s #PlansForTheFuture, a series of live conversations that have featured some really amazing people from all over the world who are working in the arts and culture: Mariano Pensotti, a theatre and cinema artist based in Buenos Aires; Juliet Knapp, co-director of Kyoto Experiment in Kyoto; Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin, a queer independent researcher and agitator based in Milan; and Meiyin Wang, a producer and curator of performance based in New York.
Kris and Njoki discussed our latest project Feminine and the Foreign (which she is co-directing with our very own Mars Maasai, and which we are co-producing with the wonderful LIFT team, alongside the UCT Team in Cape Town). Njoki also reflected on the future of artistic collaborations, as well as what has been inspiring hers and the collective’s current projects, and much more!
